We are hiring on behalf of a leading UK-based company for an experienced National Category Buyer to join their dynamic team. Based in Manchester, this role offers the opportunity to shape and drive the beauty category at a national level, working with well-known brands and a fast-paced commercial environment.
The Role As a National Category Buyer, you will be responsible for managing and developing the beauty category, ensuring a competitive and innovative product range that delivers both sales growth and customer satisfaction. You’ll work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and senior stakeholders to negotiate the best deals, optimise margins, and deliver against business objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver the category strategy to drive growth and market share.

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating commercial terms and securing the best value.

Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and consumer insights to inform buying decisions.

Manage product ranges, pricing, and promotions to maximise performance.

Work cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, and merchandising teams to deliver category plans.

Monitor performance against KPIs, reporting results and identifying opportunities for improvement.
About You

Proven experience as a Buyer or Category Manager, ideally within beauty, health, or FMCG.

Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.

Commercially minded with excellent analytical ability.

Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.

Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Based in the UK, with easy access to Manchester for office-based work.
